Miss G - It's amazing how a day can a change. We managed to perform the seven games today though she still invades my space at time. She would stand all day for scratches and cuddles.
She is such a clever little mare. She learns things so fast and is beginning to pre-empt me. Must have a look at using some props today. Might be a short session as it's vaccination and dental work day.
Mr F - What a devil! Still trying to play who's who in the zoo with me. Brief session with him followed by some riding. Yes he did not behave himself. What can I expect when he is trying to take charge on ground. Lot's of disengaging the hindquarters and for the first time today I managed to properly disengage the forequarters. Some short range driving game too.
Dental day today so no riding! I should have done some densensitization exercises for injecting over the past week. Real life can get in the way!

Day 1 - Mr F
Now it was windy and it took me a while to get him a little calmer. Very right brain tonight.
Quite challenging tonight. Lots of backing up and disengaging the hindquarters. Mouthy and dominant. Attempted the circling game. Perhaps a little soon - right brain aargh but settled thereafter.Move on to the right rein. Got into a little trouble. Decided to not to get into an argument. He is definately a left brain horse with a tendency to go right brain with a high spirit. Arabs aarggh!

Let's call this day one!
Miss G - She loves the friendly game and settled very quickly. Only problem is she tends to invade your space and tries to love you to death! Big improvement since yesterday. Went back to the twelve foot line. Improvement in porcupine game nad disengaging hindquarters much better.
Work needed on the circling game. Managed eventually to get her to walk calmly around me three times without breaking gait. Quietly persistent and then move on. Must introduce some new things to keep her interested.
Squeeze game - no problem and sideways. Sideways needs a little improvement. Will try the figure 8 pattern tomorrow. Yoyo game supremo.

Parelli
I have recently became a fan of Parelli natural horsemanship. I am attempting to take both my horses through this programme. Taking as long as it takes.......
Both were very spooky last night. Don't know if it was the arrival of some new highland cattle in the field in front of their field. She seemed to settle quicker than him. She, I guess is a left brain extrovert and he is too but recently I question he may be more right brain.
I spent a lot of time time trying to get him a little calmer before I could think of trying anything new. Lot's of disengaging the hindquarters, a little friendly game until I had his attention. Periods of calm and lowering of the head and inquisitiveness interrupted by periods of right brain behaviour. Hmmmn. I think we will have to stay here for a while. Very dominant horse!
Going to Auchterarder at the end of August for a Parelli clinic. Rachel Moreland will be taking a level three class. Unfortunately I'm not at that level yet but it should be inspirational. Looking forward to it. My challenge 100 days of Parelli - Wonder how far I will go? Hopefully I will see great improvements in my relationship with my horses and their behaviour. Day 1 begins.........
